sensorycushion-ourjouney (1)I’m a mum of two amazing, quirky and interesting boys – twins. One of my sons has a diagnosis and is highly sensory.

Our official journey began when he was four years old, yet we had been living with it all his life. I wasn’t any different from most parents after receiving a diagnosis, going into a wild panic and not knowing which way to turn. A profound turning point for us was finding an incredible occupational therapist who introduced me to proprioceptive input and the importance it played in my son’s life. Proprioceptive input for our family has been life changing.

As we traveled down this road we encountered many challenges – transitioning, following a simple program, screaming, brushing teeth, changing clothes, holding a pencil… to name a few…

It has been a difficult yet wondrous journey where every milestone is hard won. I now see how my son is flourishing, with his sensory needs met, his potential is being allowed to shine.

Every child and parent’s journey is different and you can only piece together your own individual jigsaw as you travel down the road of sensory issues.

Pip and Moo Sensory Cushions in a Bag is my small contribution to this extraordinary journey…
